Wow was yesterday a surprisingly very warm day! Temperatures were able to climb to the 90-degree mark yesterday for the first time since May 14th which for this time of year feels like a long stretch! Luckily, we won't have to worry about 90-degree heat in the days to come, but a few showers and thunderstorms may be possible.
We'll see slightly more comfortable temperatures today as we'll get into the low to mid 80's with cloud cover sticking around. We'll have a stationary boundary in place as well which will shift winds as well as create a temperature gradient for areas to our north. This stationary boundary may act as a match later into the evening helping light up a few isolated thunderstorms this afternoon.Temperatures look to stay consistent through the weekend then as we'll see a slight cooler trend, but within some of the cooler days we can still see the chances for a few isolated thunderstorms, mainly tomorrow and into early Saturday.

Through the next few days, a typical summer trend is expected to develop. With warmer temperatures in the summer comes higher dewpoint temperature, combing that with some sunshine and that's how we often get our summertime "pop-up" thunderstorms. This same trend will stick around today and tomorrow which will be helped out by the previously mentioned stationary boundary helping lift those storms easier.

Lift or the forcing of these thunderstorms will be the crucial thing because sometimes you'll have the ingredients for storms, but nothing to push the energy up to force them. Over the next few days our upper-level jet stream will remain somewhat quite however with a few weak disturbances passing to our north, if one were to slide a bit south our thunderstorm chances would rise a bit.

Due to most of that lift or forcing staying well to our north over the next few days we'll see our thunderstorm chances stay isolated to scattered at best. Rainfall over these next few days won't amount too much but if you're a lucky soul (or unlucky) some stronger downpours with any thunderstorms will allow for isolated higher totals.
Our upper-level jet stream then looks to calm down even more heading into next week where temperatures look to be on the rise!
