It was another sunny and warm day in the Stateline Friday, as temperatures reached near 80° for most. Saturday will be similar to start out, but clouds will increase through the afternoon. Scattered rain showers will follow as our next weather system passes mostly South of Rockford into the evening. Highest coverage of rain will be found the further South you travel, with some spots in Southern Wisconsin possibly staying completely dry.

Sunday will feature our next chance for a few showers and possibly some storms. A cold front will sweep through from the Northwest during the afternoon, producing a line of showers and possibly a few thunderstorms. Unless we get a more widespread round of storms, rain totals between Saturday and Sunday may only amount to 0.25-0.5" at most.

Some of those storms may be on the stronger side depending on the strength and exact timing of the cold front, as the Storm Prediction Center has placed portions of the Stateline under a Level 1/5 Marginal risk for severe weather. We will keep an eye on this window, but for now most storms that form look to be sub-severe.

Behind Sunday's cold front, we will see a bit of a cooler pocket of air settle in. A few spotty showers and isolated storms will remain possible Monday, but the rest of the week looks dry. High temperatures Monday and Tuesday will only be 72° and 74° respectively, a bit below the average highs of the upper 70s. However, once that pocket of cooler slides out, we will see a quick return to low 80s for high temperatures.

This warmer than average trend looks to continue then into next weekend, as the Climate Prediction Center favors above average temperatures between the 12th and 16th. This map suggests between a 50-70% chance of above average temperatures during that time.
