Well, that may change today as lots of sunshine and an organized west-southwest wind will pave the way for a quick warm up. One that will leave temperatures in the upper 80s, close to the 90° mark this afternoon. While we do see an uptick in temperatures, humidity won't be much of an issue as dew points temperatures should remain in the low 60s.
Attention will then shift to an approaching cold front, one that could bring the potential for a strong storm or two late Wednesday night into Thursday. Now, forecast models have kept the best chance for storms along and north of the IL/WI border.
It seems that the Storm Prediction Center is catching on to the trend as they have trimmed the level 1 of 5 Marginal Risk. As of this morning, it includes areas along and north of Interstate 88. If a storm were to take on severe characteristics, strong winds and large hail up to quarter size will be the main concerns. The concern for strong to severe storms should wrap up around sunrise, leaving only an isolated chance for showers and thunderstorms for the remainder of the day. Afternoon highs will won't be as warm, landing in the low 80s.
