It will be a very hot and humid weekend with temperatures well into the 90s over the next several days. This will be paired with dew points in the low/mid 70s, placing heat indices above 100°. A heat advisory has been issued area-wide that will run Saturday through Monday.

Air temperatures will reach the mid-90s for the next 3 straight days: 94° on Saturday, 95° on Sunday, and 96° on Monday for our current forecast highs. Heat index will be closer to 100-110° at times for the next few days. Tuesday will bring potentially a little lower humidity, but the air temperature will still reach the low 90s.

The highest heat indices each day will be between 12-6PM. This is the most likely times for 100° readings. The nighttime will not provide much in the way of relief, as air temperatures will likely remain above 80° until after midnight. Overnight lows will only reach down to the mid-70s.

With the extended stretch of heat and humidity on the way, it will be very important to practice heat safety this weekend. Some tips include drinking plenty of water, taking frequent breaks in the shade, and limiting exposure to the sun.
