It has been another warm and mostly dry day so far in the Stateline Saturday. But as of 6:30PM, scattered showers have been slowly pushing North of I-88 across Carroll, Whiteside, Ogle, and Lee Counties. This includes a pocket of steadier rain overtop Rochelle. Where heavier rain falls, a quick 1/4 of rain or more could fall.

Scattered showers will continue to lift North slowly over the course of this evening. Highest coverage will likely remain near and South of I-88, with only spotty showers toward Rockford and other areas North. Many spots North of Highway 20 could remain completely dry this evening. Whatever rain we do see will exit the area by 12/1AM.

The next round of showers will develop along a cold front midday Sunday. This front could produce a few storms as well. Futurecast has not been very consistent on placement and coverage of the storms, but there is a signal for a few stronger storms between 11AM-4PM along this front.

The Storm Prediction Center continues to highlight a slim chance for an isolated severe storm or two across the region. A Level 1/5 Marginal Risk for severe weather is in place for much of the Stateline. Most storms will remain under severe limits, but there is a small chance for one or two storms to turn severe.

Isolated showers will remain possible Monday with an otherwise cooler and breezy day. A much warmer and more active pattern will begin to build in toward the middle of next week, with temperatures into the low 80s for multiple days along with almost daily chances for storms starting Thursday.
