The Easter weekend will be a tale of two halves. Saturday looks dry with temperatures in the upper 50s, but Sunday will bring our next chance for some rain showers. First with Saturday. Following Friday evening's cold front and storm chances, the bulk of the moisture will settle to our South. this will keep our local regions in Northern Illinois dry but cloudy for Saturday with highs nearing the 60° mark.

We will stay dry into the early morning hours of Sunday, but the afternoon and evening may bring some windows of rain showers. A developing low pressure system will lift a warm front through the region Sunday evening, with some steady rain showers ahead and behind it. The early daytime hours of Sunday will feature rain with temperatures in the 40s, so outdoor activities for Easter Sunday will likely be impacted. The forecast "high" temperature on Sunday of 53° may not be reached until the late evening.

Both high temperatures Easter weekend will be in the 50s, but Saturday will be a bit warmer. Between the two weekend days, Saturday will be a good day for outdoor festivities, while Sunday will be at best hit-or-miss with rain showers and cooler highs in the low 50s. A few rain showers may linger into Monday morning, but it will be another seasonably cool day with highs in the 50s amid a stout Northwesterly wind.
