Daily rain chances return next week

Similar to Thursday afternoon, the few days ahead will bring below average temperatures and partly cloudy skies. But more importantly, we should remain precipitation free through Saturday. In fact, the Weather Prediction Center forecasts zero precipitation through that time.

However, all good things come to an end, as our next weather system rolls through in the form of a slow-moving upper level low through early next week. It will bring our first chances for rain into the region by Sunday as moisture and the upper forcing approaches. The slow-moving nature of the low will keep moisture around through Wednesday, aiding to daily rain chances in the form of scattered afternoon showers and an isolated storm during the peak heating of the day.

The low pressure may also help to bring in some haze and wildfire smoke from Canada and the Western U.S. into the Stateline region as we head through early next week as well. This may bring some hazy skies especially for sunrises and sunsets.

The haze shouldn't impact our afternoon high temperatures too much, but it will remain near or cooler than average through the period ahead. We will see afternoon highs typically in the low 80s with overnight lows in the 60s will be the story going forward, with daily afternoon rain chances Sunday through Wednesday.
