Two more tornadoes confirmed from severe storms Monday night

 


Update: A storm track has been added to the EF-0 tornado that occurred in southern Winnebago County Monday evening. This tornado touched down just north of Severson Dells, traveling nearly parallel to Montague Road. It was on the ground for about one minute and had peak winds of 75 mph. It was determined that strong straight line wind damage occurred for the rest of southern Winnebago County.

A fourth tornado has been confirmed from the severe storms that moved through the Stateline Monday night. The National Weather Service confirmed that an EF-U (unknown) tornado touched down in Stephenson County, just southwest of Dakota. Peak winds with the tornado are currently unknown as it appears there was no damage to survey. It was on the ground for just a little over a mile and 10 yards wide. It touched down at 7:26pm and lifted at 7:27pm.


This brings the tornado total so far up to four, for Monday night, five overall from the weekend. An EF-0 tornado occurred southwest of Esmond Sunday night causing damage to trees and crops along its path. Three EF-0 tornadoes occurred Monday night, one in Byron, Davis Junction, and in southern Winnebago County. The National Weather Service is still gathering information on the southern Winnebago County tornado.
