The forecast continues to improve as an area of high pressure approaches from the northwest. This will keep our weather pattern dry moving forward, leaving the potential for severe weather, heavy downpours, and miserable heat off the table.
Good riddance!
Cooler air filtering in behind our most recent frontal passage will bring temperatures back a few degrees compared to Tuesday afternoon.
Expect afternoon highs to peak on either side of the 80° mark under partly cloudy skies. What's also on the table is a light breeze out of the northwest, which could gust up to 20 mph at times. Conditions remain quiet, cool and mostly clear overnight, with overnight lows falling into the upper 50s.
High pressure slides overhead early Thursday, then to our east by Friday afternoon. This will keep skies dry and sun-filled, especially for Thursday. Highs will end up in the upper 70s Thursday, then peak around the 80° to round out the work week.
Upper-level flow remains rather weak through the weekend. However, there are signs that a broad and slow-moving storm system will develop over the Midwest, bringing the Stateline a small chance for showers late Sunday into Monday.
