Dense fog for some, relief in humidity levels settles in

High pressure settling in will make for a nice break in the recent heat and humidity. However, it's arrival will also make conditions conducive enough for a round of patchy morning dense fog.

As of 4:30AM, areas like Rochelle, Amboy, and Janesville are sitting with visibility values at or below 3 miles. Use caution while traveling this morning as fluctuations in visibility will be likely.

Other than this morning's fog, today is going to be a relatively quiet and nice day. One that features less humidity thanks to Tuesday's cold front!

Underneath plenty of sun, afternoon highs will peak at seasonable-levels in the low 80s. You can pretty much copy and paste today's forecast into Thursday's as high pressure sits close by. Overnight lows will improve, landing in the low 60s.

Changes in the forecast will begin to filter in Friday as a heat dome builds across the Midwest. This will help bring some of that higher heat and humidity back into the equation for the weekend.

Dew point temperatures will likely climb back into the low 70s, with highs ranging from the upper 80s Friday to low 90s Saturday. Along with the heat comes a slightly more active weather pattern, one that will be daily chances for showers and thunderstorms into the beginning of next week.
