Scattered severe storms Saturday afternoon

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING has been issued for Northern Green and Rock Counties in Wisconsin until 2:30PM. This storm is capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts and quarter sized hail as it moves Southeast at 25 mph. An outflow boundary will also produce gusty winds ahead of the storm. That is currently located just North of Beloit (thin green line on radar).

A new SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING has been issued for portions of Rock and Walworth Counties in Wisconsin until 3:00PM. This storm remains capable of producing 60 mph winds and quarter sized hail as it moves Southeast at now 40 mph. Gusty winds will precede the storm along an outflow, now located near the IL/WI state line stretching from near Monroe to Burlington (green line on radar).

With the current line of storms in Southern WI diving into Northeastern IL, a severe thunderstorm watch has been issued. There are no signs of weakening with this complex yet, so those ahead of it should prepare for the potential severe thunderstorms over the next few hours.

Whatever storms we end up seeing this evening, the outflow boundary may become an initiating point for additional storms later tonight. These storms may not be quite as strong but will be capable of very heavy rain and could track over the same areas over and over again, which would cause some flash flooding concerns.
