Additional scattered thunderstorms will be possible throughout this weekend, bringing gusty winds and heavy rain at times. It will not be raining all weekend, and there is a reasonable chance some may end up dry throughout the weekend. Most of Saturday and Sunday's mid-day hours should end up dry, but highest coverage of storms will be focused on the Saturday morning and then again that evening and night.

The storms we will be watching tonight are in Southeastern Minnesota and Central Wisconsin as of 9:30PM. Those storms may gradually slide South overnight and early tomorrow, bringing gusty winds and heavy rain with them. Aside from that, a few areas of light rain may drift over Northern Illinois prior to midnight.

On and off scattered storms will be possible through the night and into Saturday morning, with the highest chance of that mainly centered across Wisconsin. These scattered storms will be close by Saturday afternoon, which could slide a few gusty outflow boundaries toward us during the day. Isolated storms will be possible through the afternoon, with better chances further North.

The storms may produce an outflow boundary which could ignite additional storms Saturday night into the early morning hours of Sunday. These storms would again be capable of gusty winds and very heavy rain. Flash flooding could be a concern if storms set up in a line and track over the same areas over and over again.

Both Saturday and Sunday afternoons look to bring a relatively drier stretch, which should allow temperatures to warm back near 90°. That paired with the humidity could place heat index (or feels like) temperatures near or above 100°. Any storm outflows may temporarily relieve us from some of the humidity, which is why a heat advisory has not yet been issued for Stateline counties.
