Unfortunately, this break from the wind is extremely brief as winds looks to increase Friday ahead of our next cold front. Though winds this afternoon won't be as strong as the winds from Thursday morning, there will be times where gusts could be as high as 40 mph. On the flip side, winds will be blowing out of the southwest, allowing milder air to spill in. This will help bring afternoon highs in the upper 50s, close to the 60° mark.
At the same time, clouds will be increasing as a weak disturbance approaches the region from the northwest. With it will come our next cold front, which will have enough moisture for a few evening showers and maybe an isolated thunderstorm. Once the front is to our east, conditions will dry out into Saturday, with temperatures falling back into the upper 20s.
Sunshine returns Saturday, though temperatures will end cooler by the afternoon. A light northwest wind will be present, limiting high temperatures to the mid 40s. Skies will then cloud over Saturday evening into Saturday night as a secondary cold front sinks down from the Upper Great Plains.
With it will come the chance for a few spotty showers during the predawn hours of Sunday. Quick to follow are much
better rain chances, especially during the first half of our Sunday. Despite the rainy and gloomy conditions, temperatures should
recover nicely, reaching the low to mid 50s.
