Nightfall is getting later and later, and for northern Illinois, Monday marks another big milestone toward summer, sunsets after 8 PM.
By the end of the month, sunset times will end up closer to 8:30 PM. In fact, sunset times will continue to get later until the day of the summer solstice which is June 20th. That's when northern Illinois enjoys a little over 15 hours and 16 minutes of daylight. As far as 8PM sunsets are concerned, we won't have to worry about that until the middle of August. So soak it all in and enjoy the longer days!
