Isolated sprinkles tonight, then dry much of the week ahead

Most of the Stateline had a fair bit of sunshine throughout much of Sunday, as high temperatures reached into the mid-60s for some. As of 6PM, the far Eastern portions of the Stateline are beginning to see a few spotty showers work in overhead.

There is still a lot of dry air in the lower levels, with dew points in the 30s and 40s for many. Temperatures remain in the 60s, as the gap between temperature and dew point will initially prevent some of this rain from making it to the ground in the immediate term.

Nonetheless, a few very isolated sprinkles or patches of drizzle may make it to the surface over the course of the evening and into the night. Any rain we do see will remain very light and spotty in nature.

Sprinkles may linger on and off through Monday morning, but some afternoon clearing will bring rain chances to an end and allow temperatures to return to the 60s again. If we see abundant sunshine earlier in the afternoon, high temperatures may again end up reaching the mid-60s for some.

Following the spotty shower chances early Monday, we will enter a much drier stretch through the week ahead. A secondary cutoff low will stall out across the Southern Plains for the middle of the week. This will set up another blocking pattern with high pressure across the Great Lakes, keeping us mostly dry throughout the week ahead. Temperatures will also be on the rise, reaching the 70s Tuesday and Wednesday before a cold front. Back to 60s Thursday and Friday before another warmup next weekend.
