It was a cloudier day in the Stateline than Friday was, but temperatures were still able to reach the upper 60s and near 70° for some. A weak weather system will pass to our South tonight, bringing an isolated sprinkle chance after midnight. The highest coverage of any rain would be mostly South of I-88 with slightly more favorable moisture. Much of the rain shown here will not quite make it to the surface, given a dry slot of air a few thousand feet up.

By Sunday morning, any lingering rain will be further South with pockets of sunshine to start the day across far Northern Illinois into Wisconsin. We will see a bit more cloud cover filter in for the afternoon and evening, so it will be a very similar day to Saturday, with highs reaching the upper 60s and near 70 degrees.

Memorial Day is another day with an almost identical temperature forecast. High temperatures will start in the 40s early in the morning but quickly rise to the 50s and 60s under morning sunshine. Clouds again will filter in for the afternoon, preventing widespread 70-degree readings. But rain chances will remain out of the area until late Monday evening, providing yet another favorable day for outdoor activities.

Rain chances hold off until much later Monday night into Tuesday morning. This will likely bring the highest coverage of rain in the near term for that window, with light and scattered showers possible throughout much of Tuesday. High temperatures Tuesday will be limited to the mid-60s unless we see less coverage of rain.

The rain showers Tuesday will be along the leading edge of this slow-moving upper-level system that will linger into the middle of the week. With this overhead through Thursday, we will see continued chances for light and scattered showers Wednesday and possibly Thursday, in less coverage than Tuesday's. With the influence of this low, temperatures will also remain below average throughout the week. Next weekend looks more favorable for a possible return to the mid-70s.
