Chilly stretch with widespread rain early in the week

Saturday was a noticeably cooler day in the Stateline with a drop of almost 20° from yesterday's highs to this afternoon's. Most of tomorrow will be similar to Saturday with highs near 70° and pockets clouds amid more sunshine. Toward the evening, a lake-enhanced cold front will swing in from the East, helping to quickly drop temperatures near and after sunset, eventually to the low 40s for overnight lows.

We will remain dry along that front, but our next chance for widespread rain will arrive early next week. A slow-moving low pressure system will slide through between Monday and Wednesday, bringing with it a broad area of precipitation. The highest coverage of rain looks to be Tuesday morning into the evening. Spotty showers may stick around into early Wednesday as well. There is an increasing chance for some to see upwards of an inch of rainfall, which would be a welcome sight for much of the area that has seen little rainfall in the last two weeks.

This low pressure system will also bring downright chilly temperatures to the area early in the week. Afternoon highs will only reach the low 60s Monday and Wednesday. We may struggle to even get out of the 50s on Tuesday with the steady rain coming down. Overnight lows will be in the low to mid-40s for the next several nights starting Saturday night. This cooler-than-average trend will continue into the end of the week, likely keeping us in the 60s for highs at least through Friday.
