Frost Advisory issued for some Thursday night

A Frost Advisory has been issued for some beginning late Thursday night and lasting through Friday morning as temperatures are expected to drop into the mid-30s, with a few locations getting down into the low 30s. On average, our last Spring frost tends to occur around the last week of April, so just a little behind the average this year.

High pressure will continue to sink south across the Great Lakes, settling over Wisconsin early Friday. Gusty northeast winds will ease some through the night but won't go completely calm. This will keep a light breeze through Friday morning. Be sure to bring in or cover up anything that may be more sensitive to the cold.

A slight increase in moisture late Thursday night may also lead to some higher-level clouds passing through, but sunshine is expected to be in full force Friday which will warm temperatures back into the upper 60s, to right around 70 degrees.

Another high-pressure system north of the Great Lakes at the start of the weekend will cause a lake-enhanced cold front to move down Lake Michigan Saturday afternoon. Similar to Wednesday, this will cause temperatures to fall as the front moves onshore. Temperatures ahead of the front will warm into the mid and upper 70s, but once the front passes those numbers will fall through the evening. Northeast to east winds will increase briefly, gusting around 25 mph through sunset. An isolated shower or two can't be ruled out either during the late afternoon and evening.

The front will then be pulled back north as a warm front for Mother's Day, setting the stage for a beautiful afternoon. High temperatures will warm into the upper 70s under partly cloudy skies. A perfect day for moms to get out an enjoy.
