The coldest air behind Wednesday's backdoor cold front has arrived, leaving overnight lows in the upper 30s. Some may drop into the mid 30s by sunrise, resulting in patchy frost. It's for this reason that the National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory for much of the Stateline until 8AM.
Thankfully, we have an area of high pressure sitting over the western Great Lakes. This help will keep our atmosphere very dry, resulting in lots of B-E-A-UTIFUL sunshine. That, along with a light breeze out of the northeast will leave afternoon highs a smidge warmer than Thursday, in the low 70s. The overnight hours will be quiet and calm for the most part, though a second backdoor cold front could result in a few clouds by sunrise. Overnight lows won't be as chilly, falling back into the upper 40s.Similar to Wednesday, we'll see a quickly warm up followed by a quick cool down. High temperatures Saturday should reach the upper 70s, cooling to near the 60° come dinnertime. However, unlike Wednesday's cold front, there isn't a batch of very cool air behind the one coming through Saturday. Overnight low Saturday night should wind up in the mid 50s, with temperatures surging back into the upper 70s by Saturday afternoon. Also with the front will be a very slim chance for a sprinkle or shower. These warm ups will be accompanied by plenty of sunshine as a ridge of high pressure remains in control through the weekend and into the start of next week.
