Isolated shower chances remain for the weekend, possibly into next week

Thankfully, heavy downpours won't be a concern for the morning commute this morning. However, we may see rain chances extend into the first weekend of May depending on a nearby system.

For this most part, the dry hours will outweigh the wet ones Friday. Even a peek or two of sunshine could make an occasional appearance from time to time. Afternoon highs will be similar to Thursday, landing below average in the upper 50s and low 60s. Forecast models do show another weak disturbance taking aim at the region late Friday into Friday night, bringing with it a chance for off and on light showers. This chance will likely continue into sunrise Saturday.

Now, this disturbance won't go away quietly as it will possibly play a bigger role in our weekend forecast. Behind this disturbance, a ridge of high pressure takes over the midsection of country, essentially causing an "traffic jam" in the atmosphere. This will stall out this disturbance over the Ohio Valley.

The close proximity of this low will keep rain chances in play late Saturday, Sunday, possibly into Monday. I do think the better chance for rain Saturday will be to our south, south of Interstate 80. Once we get into Sunday (May the 4th), this low will take a hop to the north, allowing more clouds and even a few isolated rain showers to swing our way. Afternoon highs will drop into the upper 50s Saturday, though climb back into the low 60s for Sunday.
