Sunny and pleasant Mother's Day, trending humid next week

Mother's Day will start on a cool note with temperatures in the 40s early on, but we will see abundant sunshine boost temperatures to the upper 70s and near 80-degrees by the afternoon. It will be a fantastic day for outdoor festivities to celebrate all the moms out there!

While we are warm, we will still be relatively comfortable from a humidity standpoint on Sunday. This will not be quite the same story the rest of the week though. Dew points will climb near 60° Tuesday afternoon and will remain above the upper 50s into the middle/end of the week. This will be paired with temperatures in the upper 70s or higher every day, so there will be a humid feel to the air much of next week.

This humidity will also be enough to spur on a few spotty showers and storms starting Monday evening into Tuesday. Coverage of any rain will be in a scattered form for both days, with a little higher coverage on Tuesday.

Any shower and storm activity will remain in a relatively scattered form until we get to Thursday. A stronger wave from the West will slide through, producing the potential for some strong to severe storms. While there are still a lot of mechanisms that will need to fall into place for severe storms to develop, some of the ingredients will likely be in place with the hot and humid air mass developing ahead of this wave.
