Friday morning weather update

Satellite imagery this morning shows our most recent low pressure system spiraling right over the northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin border.

As this system slowly departs, cloud cover remains for the morning hours as well as the chance for an isolated shower or two. Any shower that does manage to form will be brief and light.

Skies are expected to then gradually clear throughout the afternoon, leaving us with sunshine and highs in the upper 80s. However, high levels of humidity will remain in place, which will likely allow heat indices to approach the 90° mark. Remember to drink plenty of fluids and take breaks in the shade if outdoors. High pressure sitting to our west will help keep skies quiet overnight into Saturday. This may allow fog to form by daybreak.

Stateline skies will be dominated by sunshine for most of Saturday and a good chunk of Sunday. Highs are to remain in the upper 80s with humidity levels dropping ever so slightly as the weekend progresses. It will still be noticeable, so expect heat indices to be on either side of the 90° mark both days.
