As August has gone on, we have been quite cool along the state line including lower than average temperatures for this month. These conditions will stick around through the work week but expect temperatures to quickly increase towards the weekend.
Through the rest of this week temperatures will stay in the 70's with nights dropping into the low 50's. This is all due to high pressure currently positioned to our southeast that has caused some northerly and cooler flow over the region. With this cooler and northerly flow moisture has stayed low as well keeping us not only cool but dry as well.As the high pressure slowly moves east temperatures quickly begin to increase as northerly flow begins to break down. With this high pressure a forecasted warm front is expected to develop Saturday and bring not only warmer temperatures but increased moisture as well. This will help temperatures feel even warmer but expect temperatures to increase into the mid and upper 80's by the turn of the week! With this high-pressure building moisture will increase but not much forcing or upper-level flow will be in place so precipitation chances will remain low. Due to this, these drier conditions will continue through the 6–10-day outlook.Looking at the 7-day forecast though, we see a clear switch in the pattern as we roll through the weekend. Temperatures stick in the upper 70's through the week until Friday but through Friday night into Saturday morning the previously mentioned warm front will move in and quickly increase temperatures into the mid and upper 80's by Sunday. Some thunderstorm chances will stick around through the weekend as moisture increases but the one question mark will be upper-level winds to force precipitation. So, before the heat arrives make sure to take advantage of these cooler conditions!
