Seasonably cool for a few days but warm up on the way

It was a partly sunny end to the day in the Stateline after a cloudy start with even some patches of drizzle. Drier air in the mid and upper levels slowly eroded the cloud cover, with peeks of sunshine bringing temperatures into the low 80s for some.

Cloud cover continues to diminish overnight, allowing overnight lows to dip back into the upper 50s for many underneath clear skies. Some lingering low-level moisture may allow for some patchy fog to develop, but otherwise the night will be uneventful weather-wise.

Tomorrow afternoon will be similar to how Sunday afternoon was with partly cloudy skies and possibly even more sunshine. A cool wind from the North Northeast will keep many spots in the upper 70s for highs as high pressure rolls in.

This high pressure will settle over the Great Lakes region through mid-week, keeping skies precipitation free and temperatures seasonably cool. Afternoon highs will be in the mid-upper 70s through Wednesday, while overnight lows will be down in the 50s most nights.

But the warmer air is looming to the West. This typical summertime ridge of high pressure will break off toward next weekend, bringing the warmer air our direction. This will also bring back some degree of humidity and moisture, but rain chances remain lacking through the weekend, with only a small chance for some storms Friday through Sunday.

The warmer air is set to move in after another seasonably cool stretch with high pressure overhead in the short term. Afternoon highs climb through the 80s and near 90° next Sunday while overnight lows also start to tick upward, reaching the 60s by Friday night. Rain chances hold off until Friday at least.
