As the Winnebago county fair continues into the weekend, the forecast does look to change a couple times per day however, rain chances decrease through the rest of the weekend.
Through the weekend thunderstorm and precipitation chances will be at their highest on Friday however chances will decrease through the weekend. The good news is that thunderstorm chances even Friday stay scattered to isolated through the evening both days.
Friday, however, will be a day to keep an eye on the radar as even though chances are isolated some of these thunderstorms may be strong to severe. Currently the Storm Prediction Center has some of the state line under a marginal (1/5) risk for severe thunderstorms this evening. The main threats with these storms will be damaging winds and hail however not only will the severe threat be isolated but so will overall storm coverage so some areas may not even receive any precipitation.
As of now thunderstorms look to approach the state line around 5-6 p.m. with once again some of these being possibly severe. Near this time would be a good time to move indoors if you are at the Winnebago County fair and make sure to pay attention to watches and warnings that may be issued. But as the night continues and the cold front passes, thunderstorm chances will decrease with cloud cover increasing through the night.
Into Saturday the shower and thunderstorm threat may persist through the day, but these will be even more isolated than the day before. Spotty showers and thunderstorms will remain possible, but these will only be capable of some stronger downpours and will not last long through Saturday. Outdoor activities should be okay during the festivities of the fair but still keep an eye on the radar and if thunder roars get indoors!
Beyond Saturday the last day for the Winnebago County fair should be the best day yet! With high pressure starting to build out to the west this will help keep things calm in the Midwest and state line. Sunday will stay very fair in terms of temperatures with partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies so it will be a great day to close out the fair!
