Following Monday's cold front and rain showers, we are in store for a cooler stretch for the next few days. Starting tonight, we will see temperatures drop quickly under a clear sky and the influence of strong high pressure.
Each of the next three nights will feature overnight lows back near or below average, down in the low 40s or cooler. Tuesday and Wednesday nights feature the best chance for a few spots to see upper 30s readings. Patchy frost may be possible, particularly in open and rural areas Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

Better chances for frost will be possible to the North across Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota. Frost Advisories and Freeze Warnings have been issued for areas well North of Rockford, where temperatures are expected to drop well into the 30s over the next couple of nights.

Afternoon temperatures will not be quite as chilly, but we are in store for a cool and comfortable stretch over the next few days. Wednesday and Thursday will feature lots of sunshine and light winds under the influence of high pressure, great for outdoor fall activities!

But we will see a rebound to warmer trends late this week. By the weekend, afternoon highs will return to the 70s. Between the 13th and 17th of the month, we are in store for around a 70-80% chance of above average temperatures. Average for this time of year would be highs in the mid-60s and lows in the low/mid-40s.
