Freeze warnings continue into Friday with limited rain chances into weekend

Overnight temperatures have continued to drop as we go into the early morning hours now with Rockford dropping below the 30° mark this morning! This has prompted widespread frost/freeze alerts for much of the Midwest with the entire state line under a Freeze Warning until 8 a.m. this morning. Expect chilly conditions out the door this morning!

Although we'll be slightly warmer tonight thanks to a south easterly wind at the surface, patchy frost will still be possible in some areas. Areas in valleys, lower elevation, and rural areas may see a slightly higher chance for frost tonight however chances don't look as widespread as this morning.

Overnight temperatures will be slightly warmer into the weekend while a bit more moisture Saturday may allow for a few isolated sprinkles to move into the region. However, precipitation totals through the weekend look to remain near zero as we'll see clear skies once again today while Saturday and Sunday will offer limited chances with only isolated showers possible.
