Wind Advisory issued for some in northern Illinois Tuesday

A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 10pm Tuesday for the following counties: Stephenson, Jo Daviess, Carroll, and Whiteside. Wind gusts to 45 mph will be possible through the evening.

Low pressure in the northern Great Lakes will continue to bring scattered, wind-driven rain showers across Wisconsin and northern Illinois for the rest of the evening. Pockets of steady rain will occur from time to time, with showers becoming more scattered after 8pm. Most of the rain should be wrapping up by Midnight.

West winds have been gusting between 30-35 mph with occasional gusts reaching 40-45 mph out west. This is why the wind advisory was issued as those locations are at highest risk for some of the strongest wind gusts. As the sun sets the strongest winds will slowly ease but 30 mph gusts will still continue into Wednesday morning. Temperatures will remain in the 40s through the night but wind chills will remain in the mid and upper 30s at the start of Wednesday.
