Up and down pattern with increased wind starting this weekend

Our upcoming weather pattern will feature more frequent weather systems, meaning we will see larger temperature swings day after day. This is driven by a wavy pattern in the jet stream, featuring more progressive ridges of high pressure and troughs of low pressure.

The first strong weather system will pass through over the weekend, bringing a deep intrusion of cooler air for Sunday with highs only near 60 degrees. Monday brings a quick rebound of warmer air to the mid and upper 60s, followed by another drop over the middle of the week.

Despite the stronger weather systems, rain chances look to remain few and far between. The best chance will arrive Saturday night into Sunday, but another period of scattered showers will be possible Monday evening into Tuesday along a cold front displaced from the parent weather system to the North. A few more slim chances for showers could arrive toward the end of the week.
