Although we won't be as warm as yesterday, gusty winds will continue this after which does prompt an elevated fire risk for the region due to strong winds combined with dry atmospheric conditions. Combing that with limited rainfall and dry vegetation fires will be able to burn and spread quickly today.Temperatures this afternoon will be in the upper 40's while dewpoint temperatures will be down in the low 20's and even the mid-teens at times which will allow relative humidity values to plummet into the 20's at times today, which is a very dry atmosphere.
Any fire that burns today will not have a problem spreading either as wind speeds today will be between 10-20 mph with gusts up to 25 mph possible.
