Pleasant weekend ahead of cool down toward Thanksgiving

After a few seasonably cool days, temperatures will be looking up toward the weekend with afternoon highs back in the 50s and a bit more sunshine. We will keep the above average temperature trends into the early part of next week before our next cold front arrives Wednesday.

Rain chances have been hard to come by lately, but our next potential for some scattered rain showers will arrive as a "cutoff" low will pass over the area between Monday and Tuesday. Right now, rainfall potential does not look all that high, as most may not see more than a quarter of an inch of rain.

A stronger cold front will follow between Wednesday and Thursday, leading to more of a chill toward Thanksgiving. It's hard to pinpoint temperatures more than a week out, but it is becoming increasingly likely that afternoon highs may be stuck near or below 40 for Thanksgiving Day.

That below average trend looks to stick with us for the few days following Thanksgiving as well. The Climate Prediction Center outlook gives us around a 50-60% chance to see below average temperatures between November 27th and December 3rd. Average highs during that time are right around 40 degrees.
