The last few days have featured afternoon high temperatures only reaching the low 50s. We haven't seen 60-degrees since last Monday! But much of the next week ahead will feature high temperatures back above average for this time of year, with a few 60s possible again.
Starting with tonight, a stray shower or light sprinkle cannot be ruled out across Southern Wisconsin and far Northern Illinois between 12-5AM. The increase in clouds will likely hold temperatures near 40 degrees until just before sunrise when some clearing pushes temps into the 30s.

That will be the first in a series of weak cold fronts to pass through the region this week. Each front will flip winds back around to the Northwest behind it, but the cold fronts will not provide a large drop in temperatures. Much of this week will be spent with afternoon highs on one side or the other of 60 degrees.

The weak cold fronts will also arrive with limited moisture. There are light shower/sprinkle chances Sunday night, then again Tuesday and Wednesday. Better chances for steadier rain showers will arrive Thursday night into Friday along a stronger weather system. It is behind this system we will see a much larger drop in temperatures, with highs only in the 50s next Saturday and 40s next Sunday!
