Even though we hold on to a breeze today, lots of sun will bring afternoon highs back above average. Most locales should wind up in the low 50s.
When you factor in the gusty wind, wind chills values will be in the 40s. Moving right along into tonight, forecast models show a deck of cirrus clouds filtering in. This should leave our skies partly cloudy into Thursday with lows falling into the low 30s.
As we discussed yesterday, a ridge of high pressure is expected to slide into the Midwest. This will transport milder air into the central plains and the Great Lakes, allowing the temperature climb to continue. Expect afternoon highs to wind up in the mid 50s Thursday, then low 60s Friday afternoon. Saturday will be the warmest day of this stretch, with most Stateline locales peaking in the upper 60s.
