Quiet conditions Sunday, followed by higher rainfall chances to start the week

Unlike yesterday, we'll see a good dose of sunshine through much of the day thanks to the combination of high pressure at the surface along with very little moisture in the atmosphere today. This will allow temperatures to climb up into the 50's this afternoon thanks to the higher quantity of sunshine, so overall it should be a comfortable fall day!

However, the forecast over the next two days will quickly flip as our next cutoff low-pressure system makes its way into the Midwest. With increasing moisture overnight into tomorrow, clouds will gradually build ahead of consistent rain showers starting by tomorrow afternoon. As we've seen before though, a lack of atmospheric moisture will keep rain chances more scattered along with slightly lower totals than originally expected. Our rainfall chances on Tuesday will then heavily rely on if we can keep enough moisture around to continue showers overnight.
Overall, thanks to the lack of moisture, precipitation totals are expected to be lower than a quarter of an inch by Tuesday morning. A few showers will still be possible through the early afternoon hours on Tuesday however rainfall totals from any scattered showers will continue to remain low.
