For that, Green County in southern Wisconsin as well as Stephenson, Jo-Daviess, and Carroll Counties in northern Illinois has been placed under a DENSE FOG ADVISORY until 10AM. These specific Stateline locales could encounter visibility at or below 1/4 while other will be around 1 mile. Be prepared for visibility fluctuations if traveling.
Drizzle, and a few light rain showers, will remain a possibility through the morning. However, we should see conditions turn drier and remain mostly cloudy for the afternoon hours. Afternoon highs will hover on either side of the 50 degree mark. We'll hold on to a light southwest wind until a strong cold front passes Tuesday evening This will quickly bring temperatures tumbling into Wednesday morning.
Strong winds pushing in behind this evening's frontal passage will play a big role in the temperature plunge that occurs over the next 24 hours.
Starting at 3AM Wednesday, all Stateline counties will be under a WIND ADVISORY. This will be in place for a while, lasting until 10PM. Overnight, winds could gust up to 40 mph, then up to 50 mph during the daylight hours Wednesday.
This rather strong northwest wind will help tug in the next round of cold Arctic air. High temperatures will go from around 50 degrees this afternoon to the low 30s for Wednesday and Thanksgiving. Wind chills also take a tumble, landing in the teens Wednesday morning, then single-digits Thursday. Be sure to pack those layers this Thanksgiving!
