Scattered showers, bitter cold headline Thanksgiving week

Clouds held strong and blanketed our skies Thursday, limiting highs to the upper 40s. Unfortunately, today features the same story as low pressure dives well to our south, keeping moisture in place.

Like Thursday, fog and patchy drizzle will be present during the the morning commute. This will give way to a mostly cloudy sky, which similarly to Thursday will severely limit our effectiveness to fully warm up, keeping afternoon highs in the upper 40s.

From there, gradually clearing takes place as this low pushes east, allowing high pressure to move into the Midwest and the plains. Skies remain dry and fortunately less cloudy for the weekend, allowing temperatures to climb into the 50s. The warmest day of the weekend will be Sunday where afternoon highs will end up in the mid to upper 50s.

Thanksgiving week starts off with the Stateline's next opportunity for scattered showers. Potential arrives late Monday afternoon and lingers into the first half of our Tuesday. However, the bigger weather headline will end up being the cold air that filters in just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Ahead of a cold front, afternoon highs will peak in the low 50s Tuesday afternoon. This next round of cold air doesn't arrive until late Wednesday afternoon, possibly not until Wednesday evening. Highs will barely make it to the 40° mark Wednesday, then cool even into the low 30s for Thanksgiving. Bundle up if you have to travel anywhere!
