Forecast-wise, this week features a few positives and a few negative. One positive is that we begin the week with the same warmth that we rounded out the weekend with. Afternoon highs are expected to peak in the upper 40s, low 50s today.
However, it comes with less sunshine, more cloud cover, and the chance for a few showers. Forecast models show a batch of scattered light showers pushing in during the mid to late-afternoon, with chances lingering into Tuesday.
Overnight, it seems the focus for additional rainfall will occur near and south of I-88. With rain chances and cloud cover hanging tight, temperatures are expected to only drop into the low 40s. This will set the stage for another day in the 50s.
Cloud cover remains locked in for Tuesday as a cold front approaches from the west. Ahead of this front's arrival, we may see another round of scattered light showers develop. Unfortunately, rainfall amounts between Monday and Tuesday will end up under a tenth of an inch for most Stateline locales. Areas along and south of Interstate 88 will have a better shot at seeing totals closer to .25". Gusty winds return late Tuesday into Wednesday, setting the stage for a much cooler Wednesday and Thanksgiving.
